Ideas and Tips for Coloring Your Hair.
By Jennuhlee
Crazy colored hair is more popular now than ever, I've been dying mine for about five years now and I love it. Using temporary hair dye allows you to frequently change your color, I never get bored. There are a few things you should know before dying your hair.
1.Bleach is not your friend, it WILL burn your hair. Don't bleach your hair twice in a row, even if it didn't quite turn your desired color wait as long as you can before you second attempt.
2.Hair dye is not so different from paint you can mix colors, and say your hair is yellow and you want to dye it blue, it will turn green. So be aware of that a common mistake.
3.Try out different brands before you judge all of the hair dyes. Some brands are cheap you pay for what you get.
4.You may have to redye your hair after every other wash, it's quick and easy so don't let that scare you. I usually just put it in at night and wash it out in the morning, since it is only semi permanent it wont damage your hair.
How To.
To achieve the rainbow style I bleached the whole underneath of my hair and separated it into different sections. For my normal style of color streaked through the front I parted my hair in the center and dyed a few inched on each side. After I parted my hair to the side as I usually do it made it look like they were actual streaks. My friend with the blonde and red hair had a few issues with washing it, she said that sometimes it would bleed into her blonde. Since I have black hair I wash as usual.
Brands To Use
Brands that I like the most include Splat hair dye, Manic Panic, and RAW. I've heard some good things however about Colour Rays and also Special Effects hair dye.
Brands to Avoid
Do not use Beyond the Zone hair dye if you want long lasting color, it also tends to be less vibrant than the brands I listed above.
Tips.
To keep your hair color from fading mix some dye in with your conditioner when you shower.
Try using a waterless shampoo every other day in between washing, washing your hair too frequently will fade you color.
Rinse completely when dying if you don't it may bleed when you sweat or if you get wet etc..
